Arts and Humanities Evidence for Demonstrators 2C-4B and 4E-Using Art to communicate in Psychology Class-Both Written and Performing a Product

Arts and Humanities-Demonstrator 2-Aligned and Rigorous Curriculum: an aligned and rigorous curriculum provides access to Kentucky Core Academic Standards (KCAS) as defined by state standards. 

2C-The school curriculum provides opportunities for integration as natural cross curricular connections are made between the arts and other content areas. (using art to learn about others) 


Arts and Humanities-Demonstrator 4. Student Performance: All students have access to an aligned and rigorous curriculum, where instructional strategies are of high quality and inclusive, resulting in student performance. 

4B-Students identify a purpose and generate original and varied art works or performances that are highly expressive with teacher guidance. (Using art to teach and learn about others)

4E-Students demonstrate the ability to become self-sufficient in creating performances and/or produces after teacher guidance. (Performing a presentation about the art and bucket list created)

Aug. 2014

          You will have 2-weeks to complete this project.  The due date for it is Aug. 24. Please take the time to complete this assignment to the best of your ability. Incomplete projects will be assigned an incomplete grade. 250 pts.


1.    Me Mobile: These mobiles should tell the story about who you are just by looking at the pictures and things you choose to put on your mobile.  I will be hanging them around the classroom.  You will be given the opportunity to share your project with the class.

2.    One Hundred Goals: Type 100 goals that you want to accomplish in your lifetime.  (e.g. to travel to Italy before age 50). You will need to take 5 of those goals and explain in detail how you plan on accomplishing them.

3.    Self-Portrait: Draw a picture of yourself ten years from now engaged in the activity of your choice (this could be a picture of what you will be doing in 10 years.). You will not be graded on artistic ability however, please do your best. Be prepared to share with the class

Writing Demonstrator- 4-A-Crafting Communication Specific to Psycology

Demonstrator 4. Student Performance: All students have access to an aligned and rigorous curriculum, where instructional strategies are of high quality and inclusive, resulting in student performance at a consistently high level.


A) Students craft communications distinctive to specific disciplines and purposes.

As part of our lesson on specific types of testing, students are working on TAT (Thematic Apperception Test) Student must analyze an image and write a story about what they see when looking at it.  The story must be written in correct format, and told as story to the Psychology Class.

Writing Demonstrator Curriculum and Instruction 3-B and 3-D-Using Technology to gain deeper understanding of the Brain and Behavior.

After class lecture, power point and discussion, students were given the opportunity to log on to the AP Psychology Web Address to take several quizzes and worksheets to gain a deeper understanding of the Brain and Behavior.

‍Demonstrator 3. Instructional Strategies: All teachers implement instructional strategies that provide quality experiences, variety of activities, and access for all students.


B) Students research information to seek a new or deeper understanding around a topic and demonstrate new understanding through products.

D) Students integrate what is learned when using technology with what they learn offline to develop understanding and communication.




This lesson also can be used for Practical Living as we learned about the importance of a healthy brain in the cycle of growth and maturity. Demonstrator 1-E

Demonstrator 1. Health Education: Students have equitable access to high quality, rigorous health education curriculum.


E) School ensures the health education curriculum is integrated and includes frequent opportunities for cross-disciplinary connections to meet the health and safety needs of all students.

D) Students use written and verbal communication to objectively reflect on exemplary exhibits and live or technologically provided performances as classroom assignments.


E) Students demonstrate the ability to become self-sufficient in creating performances and/or products after teacher guidance.



The AP Psychology Standards require that the students create and build a model of the Endocrine and Neural System in order to understand the structure and function of the nervous system and the brain in humans. 

This requires that students create, label, understand and present the information they have learned.  Below are the videos of their performing art in psychology class.
